Male and Female Forms in Patient Communication

Arabic changes the ending of many words depending on who you are speaking to. Speaking to a man you often end with -t / -ak; speaking to a woman with -ti / -ich / -ich.

Examples: “How are you?” — kayf haalak? (to a man) / kayf haalich? (to a woman). “Can you stand?” — tigdar tigoom? (man) / tigdareen tigoomeen? (woman).

Using the correct form is a small detail that patients notice immediately.
